Amid US-Europe tensions/ Lavrov: We are open to cooperating with America on the

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stated in a press conference that Russia is open to cooperation with everyone in the Balkans, including the United States.

"We and the US have more opportunities to establish relations in the Balkans, in relation to Bosnia and Herzegovina and other countries in the region. These relations exist, they have not brought any positive or concrete results so far, but we are open to these relations, and as far as I see, the US is also ready to develop them," Lavrov concluded his words regarding geopolitics.

Among other things at the conference, the Russian minister recalled the statement of former EU High Representative Federica Mogherini that if the EU is there, that is, in the Balkans, then no one else has any business there.

According to the Russian Foreign Minister, regarding Greenland, Brussels continues to live guided by the same philosophy it presented on the eve of the war in Ukraine, when it declared that the Ukrainian people must choose whether to stay with Russia or the EU.

Lavrov's statement comes at a time of clashes between the European Union and the United States over the issue of Greenland. Trump has repeatedly stated that he will buy the island no matter what it takes.

He has also imposed 10% tariffs on some European countries and announced that they will be in effect until an agreement is reached to purchase Greenland. On the other hand, the leaders of these countries have stated that they will not allow themselves to be blackmailed, and that the Greenland issue should be decided only by the Greenlanders and the Danes. /CNA
