Massive accident on snow-covered highway in Michigan/ Over 100 vehicles involved

More than 100 vehicles have been involved in a massive accident on a snow-covered highway in Michigan, USA. The massive collision prompted Michigan State Police to close traffic in both directions on Highway 196 as authorities worked to remove the vehicles, including more than 30 trucks.

Authorities said there were several injuries but no fatalities from the crash. A driver involved in the accident said he could barely see the cars in front of him due to the snowfall, and was traveling at 20 to 25 mph (32 to 40 km/h) before the crash.

The US National Weather Service has issued a warning for extremely low temperatures or possible snowstorms in several states, from northern Minnesota to Wisconsin, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania and New York. /CNA
