Russian authorities said six people were killed and more than 100 others were injured by Ukraine's drone and missile attacks on Sunday, while for the second day in a row Russia continued its airstrikes in Kharkiv, northeastern Ukraine, which resulted in the death of at least one person.

Among the five dead in Sevastopol, two were children, who were hit by Ukrainian missile debris over a coastal area of ??the port city in Russian-annexed Crimea, said Mikhail Razvozhayev, the Moscow-appointed governor there. Another person died in the town of Grayvoron in Russia's Belgorod region, bordering Ukraine, regional governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said.

Russian state news agency RIA Novosti, citing the Health Ministry, said 124 people were injured in Sevastopol.

Meanwhile, recent attacks in Kharkiv, Ukraine left one person dead and at least 11 others injured, according to local officials. Mayor Ihor Terekhov said that the city was attacked by a bomb and that as a result about half of Kharkiv was without electricity.

Sunday's attacks came after Russia hit Kharkiv with four aerial bombs on Saturday afternoon, killing three people. Regional governor Oleh Syniehubov said 41 people are still receiving medical treatment for injuries.

In a video address after the attack, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called on Ukraine's partners to strengthen its air defenses.

"Modern air defense systems for Ukraine, such as the Patriot systems, the acceleration of the training of our pilots for the F-16 fighter jets and most importantly the supplies of weapons are really necessary," he said./ VOA
