Drone attack on a commercial ship in the west of Yemen

A drone strike damaged a merchant ship 120 kilometers west of the Yemeni city of Hodeidah, Britain's maritime agency UKMTO and private security firm Ambrey announced on Sunday.

"All crew members are in good condition and the ship is continuing its journey to stop temporarily at a port for repairs," the UK Maritime Agency said in a statement.

In a separate statement, the Ambrey company said the vessel was a Liberian-flagged merchant vessel, but did not release its name. The Ambrey company said there were no reports of injuries as a result of the attack.

Militants from Yemen's Houthi group have carried out drone and missile attacks on merchant ships since November, saying they are acting in solidarity with Palestinians in Israel's war with Hamas militants in Gaza.
