Veliaj's "Latifi" from England has once again found space in Mero Baze, the man who got rich by licking the reincarnation power, the servant of Mayor Erion Veliaj, who directed him on how to attack SPAK prosecutors and who has recently become Ilir Beqaj's defense lawyer, to continue the scenario that Mayor Veliaj continues to remain in detention without charge.

In Mero Baze's newspaper, "Tema", a material by Alastair Campbell was published today, which appears to be an opinion piece, underlining the sentence that "what is happening to Veliaj should concern us all."

Between the lines, Veliaj's "Latifi" from England follows the scenario, which CNA actually warned about a few days ago, saying :

"He has been held in detention for more than 100 days without formal charges, without knowing what he is expected to be accused of, while he continues to be mayor and is expected to run the affairs of the capital. All this comes from SPAK - the institution that is supposed to protect the rule of law, not compromise it. Justice reform should not turn into an abuse of justice. The fight against corruption should not become a pretext for arbitrary actions."

Apparently we will have to remind them once again that there is not just one, but four charges against Veliaj and the mayor has been remanded in custody with a total of 3 court decisions.

On May 22, 2025, SPAK announced in a statement that a new criminal charge had been added to Veliaj: "Refusal to declare, failure to declare, concealment or false declaration of assets, private interests of elected persons and public servants or of any other person who has a legal obligation to declare."

"After conducting investigative actions within the framework of this criminal proceeding, the Special Prosecution Office has concluded that there is concrete data that leads to reasonable suspicion that the citizens under investigation EV and AX have also consumed the elements of the criminal offense "Refusal to declare, failure to declare, concealment or false declaration of assets, private interests of elected persons and public servants or of any other person who has a legal obligation to declare", provided for by Article 257/a/2 of the Criminal Code. For this reason, on 20.05.2025 the names of these citizens were registered in the register of notification of criminal offenses, attributing to them the criminal offense cited above", states the SPAK announcement.

So, there are 4 charges filed against Veliaj by the judiciary: The charge of "Active and passive corruption of local elected officials", "Laundering the proceeds of crime", "Bringing prohibited items into detention cells", "Refusal to declare, failure to declare, concealment or false declaration of assets, private interests of elected officials and public servants or of any other person who has a legal obligation to declare".

The court has spoken clearly and written in black and white that Erion Veliaj remains in prison because there is a risk that he may destroy evidence, among other motivations that have led to the decision that Veliaj will have to continue to remain in Durrës prison.

We are also remembering here the wiretaps where all Albanians saw the true face of the mayor, who directed the media on how to blackmail, intimidate or threaten the prosecutors who put him behind bars on a series of charges.

In fact, Erion Veliaj is in prison because there are reasonable suspicions, there are facts, there is evidence, there are accusations that are being proven, and he can also destroy this evidence while he is being investigated.
