The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has reacted to the tragic accident that occurred yesterday evening near the city of Adamuz, Spain. In the following reaction, the Minister expressed his condolences to the families of the victims.

It is also announced that verifications are being carried out to find out whether or not there are Albanian citizens affected. The announcement also states that the relevant structures are ready to provide the necessary assistance.

Full reaction:

The Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Albania is following with deep concern the tragic railway accident that occurred in southern Spain, where two high-speed trains collided near the town of Adamuz, in the province of Cordoba.

The Ministry expresses its deepest condolences to the victims and solidarity with their families, as well as with the Spanish people and authorities. We wish the injured a speedy recovery.

In cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Albania in Madrid, the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs is in constant contact with the Spanish authorities and is following the situation to verify if there are any Albanian citizens affected. The relevant structures are ready to provide the necessary assistance.
