The General Directorate of Prisons has announced that the acting director of Durrës prison, Edmond Llabani, is in hospital at the QSUT.
According to the announcement, Llabani suffered a cerebral hemorrhage. Llabani was placed in charge of the Durrës Penitentiary on January 15, 2026.
The command came after the dismissal of the previous leader, Indrit Cerloj, signed on Wednesday by the Minister of Justice, Besfort Lamallari, following the escape of detainee Altin Ndoci.
