Around ALL 30 billion from the 2024 budget will go to support citizens and families in need. This is what the Minister of Health Albana Koçiu said today while participating in the inauguration of the "Strengthening the Community" Center in Durrës. The minister clarified that the budget fund will go to persons with different abilities, victims of domestic violence as well as children of families in need.

"Within the de-institutionalization reform, the priority is the economic and social empowerment programs of families and children, and these programs are currently being piloted in two municipalities of the country, in Korça and Vlora, where 112 families have benefited, to prevent placement of children in residential centers. Strengthening institutional mechanisms such as the Coordinated Mechanism for Referral of Violence Cases (MKR) or Child Protection Units (CPUs) through centers such as the Community Empowerment Center will be an appropriate approach that the Ministry of Education and Culture will bring to the attention of self-government bodies. local, to prevent and manage the cases for which these mechanisms were set up " - said the minister.

Referring to the "Empower the Community" center, the minister said that this center comes today after the drafting of social plans in all 61 municipalities of the country, which brought a better identification of social services and the needs for integrated services, as well as a more realistic planning for community services.

" This is a guide that we are following step by step to extend it throughout Albania. Through the application of the Social Fund, a new instrument that financially supports the local level, it has been possible during this period to set up new models of services in the municipality, to expand the map of services with 54 new services, as well as to strengthen existing services which are offered by civil society organizations, accompanied by the appropriate revision of the standards offered, in line with EU standards. Strengthening institutional mechanisms such as the Coordinated Mechanism for Referral of Violence Cases (MKR). Today in Albania, 391 centers are active which offer social care services and which provide approximately 1,147 social care services with a number of approximately 36,642 beneficiaries who receive necessary services at these centers.
