SP refused to approve the genocide in Kosovo/ Panariti: International pressure

Former Minister Edmond Panariti commented this evening on the majority's decision not to approve the resolution condemning the Serbian genocide in Kosovo in the plenary session.

Invited to News24, Panariti said that this decision may have come from international pressure to not further increase tensions in the Balkan region. He further added that this stance contradicts the principle of "one nation, one stance". The former minister stressed that Albania should be by Kosovo's side in every step that consolidates the recognition of the crimes committed there.

"This probably happened under international pressure not to fuel new tensions in the Balkans, when we are on the verge of the Serbia-Kosovo reunification. So it could be a calculated act of inaction, so it was an inaction to actually act."

I have the impression that this goes against what is proclaimed with great force: one nation, one position. Kosovo, Bosnia and Herzegovina have passed resolutions condemning the Serbian genocide against their populations.

"Albania must be in sync and must be by Kosovo's side in every step that consolidates what has to do with the extermination and cruel killing of the population of Kosovo with massive displacements, the infiltration of around 800 thousand Kosovars into Albanian territory and rapes," said Panariti. /CNA
