The Chairman of the Laws Committee, Ulsi Manja, delivered his speech at the end of the High Prosecutorial Council's report on the institution's activities for 2024.

During his speech, Manja expressed criticism of the work of the KLP and added that after reporting in the plenary session, a resolution will be adopted on all the problems identified in this institution.

"I see a lack of will in evaluating the work performance of prosecutors. Why did they ask for the opinion of experts when you don't use it to draft documents? You should help the justice system to properly carry out the task of investigation and criminal prosecution. This is your duty. The Supreme Prosecutorial Council should speak as the Supreme Prosecutorial Council, not as isolated oases of a collegial body.

We will have a resolution for the KLP when you report to the plenary session. And the resolution, despite the fact that we are continuing in 2025, will find all the problems that we find in the KLP. And when you come to report next year, the problem of regulations, work evaluation and performance of prosecutors must have been resolved. And the dam must have been opened to operate with the career system, with the appointment and promotion and filling of prosecutors' offices of general jurisdiction with directors. At the moment, this process has been blocked by the KLP," Manja said. /CNA
