The Executive Director of the Association of Municipalities, Agron Haxhimali, shared today a criticism regarding the Territorial Reform, which according to him has been designed in a way that does not keep citizens in their area, but rather pushes them away.

Invited to "A2 CNN", Haxhimali also focused on another change that this reform brings, the reduction of administration, which comes from reducing the number of units.

"We said that the model is such that we keep the 65 existing municipalities. The rest, we said, those 308 communes, we thought of regrouping and creating municipal units, to be social, economic, political nodes to promote that dynamic in the most rural part. 61 municipalities did not fulfill their promises. We will cut, say, 60 to 80 million euros from the reduction of the administration in 373 local government units, which at that time was somewhere between 20,000, 25,000, 21,000.
