Denunciation of Berisha: Durana's super scandal, the Albanian mafia

Former Prime Minister and leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has denounced today what he described as a "super scandal" related to the so-called "Durana" project, referring to a possible investment in the field of high technology by the international company EPAM.

During a public statement, Berisha said that the denunciation was initially made by former Deputy Prime Minister Arben Ahmetaj and that it concerned a project aimed at creating a high-tech park in the Durrës area, presented as the "Albanian Silicon Valley".

According to Berisha, about three years ago, EPAM, a global information technology giant with a billion-dollar turnover, decided to move its activities from Ukraine after the Russian aggression and selected Albania as a new investment destination. He claimed that senior executives of the company had held meetings with representatives of the Albanian government, where they were promised to create favorable conditions for investment.

Berisha accused the government and Prime Minister Edi Rama of the project being appropriated by interests linked to organized crime, preventing EPAM from investing in Albania. According to him, the initial project for a technology park turned into what he called the “Shkozet Hydroelectric Project,” describing it as another case of abuse of public assets.

"Today I am here for the new super scandal that former Deputy Prime Minister Arben Ahmetaj denounced with full responsibility.

I'm here for the virtual high-tech park, or de facto Shkozet's Troplana, a scandal worthy of the most horror films in the genre of theft of public property. Here, this is the Silicon Valley of Edi Rama, Armand Frangu, Fatmir Troplini, called Durana.

3 years ago, as it has its own history, one of the high-tech giants, located in Ukraine, EPAM, after the Russian aggression against Ukraine, decided to move its large enterprise to another country and selected Albania.

The president of this company, one of the most powerful in the world, with a turnover of billions of dollars, comes to Albania and is welcomed by the head of the criminal organization, Edi Rama, and Agaçi with his assistant, Elira Kokona.

He presents his project, the desire and the company's decision to move his entire large enterprise in Ukraine to Albania, but for this purpose he requests the creation of a zone, as he had in Ukraine, with favorable conditions.

The truth is that this was promised, that Ramaduro started talking about Silicon Valley in Durrës. But immediately the wild claws of the Albanian mafia took over the project and the prestigious company found no opportunity to invest in this country.

"Disappointed, desperate, seeing that it had to do with an unprecedented drug mafia, and in the end these meadows and fields that you see here are Edi Rama's Troplana," said Berisha./ CNA
