Frost and snow isolate areas of the Dibër region, temperatures drop to

Frosty weather and snowfall have engulfed the Dibra region, causing serious problems in some remote areas. During the night, temperatures dropped to -10 degrees Celsius, while frost and ice have made life difficult for residents.

As a result of the extreme cold, problems have arisen in the supply of drinking water in some remote villages. Several areas in the administrative units of Lura, Kala e Dodës, Muhurr and Selishtë remain blocked by snow, as well as several villages in the Trebisht and Ostren units. In these areas, the thickness of the snow has reached over 40 centimeters.

The situation is also problematic on rural roads, where the heavy presence of snow and ice makes traffic difficult. The municipalities of Dibër and Bulqizë have gone to the field and are working to open the road axes and normalize the situation.

Meanwhile, the Cherenets Bridge on the Cherenets-Librazhd axis is impassable for traffic due to frost and ice.

Regarding the main road axes, traffic on the Peshkopi-Tirana road continues normally and without the need for chains, while on the Peshkopi-Kukës axis, movement is only allowed with the use of chains.

Problems have also been reported in the Martanesh area, where snow and frost continue to make it difficult for vehicles and residents to move around. Authorities are urging citizens to be careful and avoid unnecessary travel./ CNA
