The Democratic Party's roundtable with opposition parties and civil society representatives has sparked divisions and harsh reactions within the opposition camp, culminating in a public clash between Alfred Lela and Shpend Gashi.

Alfred Lela, director of communications and the press office at the Democratic Party, published an editorial where he ironized and criticized some of the panelists at the roundtable who expressed reservations about the opposition led by Sali Berisha.

In his writing, Lela questioned their status as intellectuals, accusing them of trying to gain attention through extremism and provocation.

"To put it bluntly: they have mouths and tongues, they have pages on social networks, podcasts in bedrooms, they teach in semi-universities in Tirana or the districts, but they are not intellectuals. So, they do not create. They repeat the same clichés, the same images, the same puppetry of the mind and action. When they see that they do not fit into the mainstream, they jump into the conspiracy markets. The goal is one: to enter the center through extremes, that is, not through creation, but through surprise," writes Lela.

After this editorial, the reaction of analyst Shpend Gashi, host of the show "Oponencë" and participant in the PD roundtable, was harsh and insulting. Gashi considered Lela's writing as a personal attack and responded with a public status, where he used denigrating language and serious accusations against him, questioning Lela's professional skills and contribution to the PD's communication.
