Rainfall situation in Shkodra Region/ Water below critical level, difficulties

The Shkodra region is one of the most affected by the rainfall of the last week, while the update on the situation so far shows that the levels of water infrastructure are below the critical level.

River levels and water infrastructure:

Buna in Dajç: 6.58 m

Old Buna Bridge: 8.50 m (critical 9.50 m)

Drin to Ura e Bahçalek: 4.20 m (critical 10.00 m)

The dams are operating at full capacity, while the embankments, channels and spillways of the Shkodra Reservoir Dam do not present any problems.

Situation by municipality

Shkodra Municipality:

In the villages of Obot and Dajç, water is present only in the courtyards of some houses, without danger to the houses and without the need for evacuations. The road to Obot is passable by high-pass vehicles of the Army. Residents have been supplied with food packages and drinking water. The village of Dajç is in a stable situation, with no houses isolated from water.

Municipality of Malësi e Madhe:

Calm situation; the road to the village of Preknicaj has become passable after rehabilitation carried out after the stream receded.

In the Municipality of Vau Dejës, low-intensity rainfall continues; without problems.

The municipalities of Pukë and Fushë-Arrëz have snowfall of about 10–15 cm, without any problems.

Difficult road accesses:

Hani i Hotit-Vermosh: heavy snowfall and strong winds above 700 m and driving with winter tires and chains is recommended.

On the Bogë-Qafë Thore-Theth axis, snow has reached up to 120 cm in some segments. /CNA
