Berisha: We made our mistakes, we went into opposition in a deserved way

The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, participated today in the event for the 35th anniversary of the founding of the DP in Lezha, where he acknowledged the mistakes of the past and emphasized that the party's transition to opposition was deserved.

In his speech, Berisha said that the mistakes made by the DP were not intentional, but were the result of ignorance. According to him, the handover of power was interpreted by opponents as a weakness of the party, thinking that the DP would disappear from the political scene.

He emphasized that despite the difficulties, the Democratic Party continued to defend the values ??and principles on which it was built, refusing to accept moral compromises.

"We made our mistakes, we came out in the opposition in a deserved way. The mistakes were not intentional, that mistake came from ignorance, when we handed over power they thought we were torn to pieces, they thought they would wipe us off the map."

"But we continued to defend the values ??and principles we believe in. After recognizing our mistake, we made the most just legal solution, we responded to the problems created in the most honest way, we did not accept to consciously commit immoral acts," said Berisha./ CNA
