"Buka" file against Arben Ahmetaj/ Debate in court between SPAK prosecutor and defense team

The trial against Arben Ahmetaj, in the case known as the "Buka" file, has continued in his absence, as the former deputy prime minister is on the run and internationally wanted.

He is accused of abuse of office in connection with the privatization of "Buka sh.a.", causing damage to the state budget.

During the hearing, there were arguments between the defense and SPAK prosecutor Elvin Gokaj, with the defense requesting new evidence and witnesses such as Shkëlqim Cani and other former officials.

SPAK argued that Ahmetaj violated the decisions of the Constitutional Court and the Constitution regarding the procedures he followed.

The court has postponed the hearing to January 27 to give the prosecutor time to clarify the proposed evidence and witnesses /CNA
