The Special Court has passed for trial the case file against Amar Shkëmbi and Bledar Polivina, accused of being involved in the assassination attempt against former prosecutor Arjan Ndoja.

According to reports, the decision to proceed to trial was made by Judge Bib Ndreca. Meanwhile, in the coming days, the drawing of lots will be held for the panel of judges who will examine the case from the merits.

Dritan alias Amar Shkëmbi was extradited from Dubai to Albania in October last year. He faces charges of "Attempted Murder of Public Officials" and "Murder in Other Aggravating Circumstances."

We recall that the assassination attempt on former prosecutor Arjan Ndoja took place in October 2019, at the Shkozet overpass. Andi Maloku lost his life and Aleksandër Laho, known as "Rrumi", was injured in this incident. /CNA
