The former head of the Prosecutor's Office of Tirana, Elisabeta Imeraj, was invited this Saturday to the show "Review" on Euronews Albania, where she analyzed the issue of sterilization.

Imeraj was asked by the moderator Jonida Shehu how the prosecution yesterday the court can make a recovery of monetary damages in the event that sterilization abuses are proven.

The ex-prosecutor emphasized that in order to seize property, there must be an allegation of corruption and then it must be proven that a certain property is the result of this corrupt activity.

She added that until now we have no accusations of corruption, but the situation may change as the investigations are ongoing.

"Recovery of damage and sequestration of the property of the investigated entities can only be had if it is proven that this property has benefited from this corrupt affair. So we must have an accusation of corruption and then it must be proven with evidence that this wealth comes as a result of this corrupt activity. Until this stage of the investigation, we do not have accusations of corruption, but it does not necessarily mean that, since the investigation is ongoing", said Imeraj.

On the other hand, the lawyer, Gentian Rumano, came to the defense of the sterilization concession, where he said that the monetary value of the service continues to be taken privately, which translates into service for citizens in the country's hospitals.

"The destination of the values ??is taken by the concessionaire after the service is provided. But also the people who receive the service. The operations continue and the service is being provided here," said Rumano./ Euronews Albania
