Over 8 hours in SPAK/ What did Ilir Beqaj testify about the 100 million euro

The former Minister of Health, Ilir Beqaj, in July 2023, was interrogated by SPAK, where he stayed for over 8 hours testifying about the sterilization concession.

Beqaj testified before the judges that "he has fulfilled all the obligations as far as the law allows for granting the concession".

According to him, the concession was granted against all legal procedures.

Asked about the relationship he had with the businessman who won the tender worth 100 million dollars for the sterilization of surgical equipment, Beqaj denied having any acquaintance or social connection with him.

The investigators confirmed that Beqaj had given evidence as a person who knows about the granting of the concession.

We remind here that the investigation into sterilization started 3 years ago, for allegations of abuse of office, corruption and violation of inequality in tenders.

About 20 people were interrogated for this matter, including the former Minister of Health, Beqaj, doctors and members of the bid evaluation commission, as well as other officials of the ministry.
