The National Civil Protection Agency (AKMC) held this Tuesday the meeting of the Technical Advisory Committee with the leaders of the civil protection system structures in the country, within the framework of the implementation of the National Plan for Civil Emergencies.

The meeting was chaired by the General Director of AKMC, Haki Çako, who emphasized that the protection of life, health, property and the environment remains the main priority of the responsible institutions.

According to Çako, the high temperatures of recent weeks have tested civil protection structures, which continue to be on full alert 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

He announced that from June 22 to date, 160 fires have been registered throughout the country. Of these, 127 cases were fires in areas with vegetation, bushes, thorns and low vegetation.

"So far, civil protection structures have full capacity and react in real time. However, no capacity is sufficient without timely signaling from citizens," said Çako.
