The “election massacre” that is preparing Lulzim Basha/ Democrats are facing a test

The Democratic Party is expected to hold the elections for the new chairman on June 13, where in the race there are 4 candidates, Edith Harxhi, Fartbardh Kadilli, Agron Shehaj, and the current leader of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha.

Elections take place after the next defeat on April 25, 2021. Although with consecutive losses, Lulzim Basha claims to be re-elected at the top of the DP. But, what stood out in this race within the Democratic Party, is that Lulzim Basha is doing exactly what he accuses the Prime Minister Edi Rama of, an ?electoral massacre?.

The race for the new leader of the Democratic Party is taking place in completely unequal conditions. First, this time Lulzim Basha didn?t even play the game of ?freezing? his post, as he did in 2017, but is running for re-election as the chairman of the Democratic Party. Lulzim Basha has put in his service the entire administration of the Democratic Party, while the other candidates have nothing. Basha has the membership lists, which he has refused to make available to other candidates, with the absurd claim ?that the membership lists are not given to third parties?.

That being a member of a party is a big secret, that can?t be known by the candidates for the chairman of this political force, this can only explain be Lulzim Basha and his deputy Gazmend Bardhi. Moreover, Lulzim Basha has appointed Jemin Gjana as chairman of the Election Commission, who, as he has shown before, is a ?genius? who solves the problems of Lulzim Basha. And not only the chairman, but also the members of the Election Commission, are also his close people.

Lulzim Basha has at his disposal the entire administration, organizational structure, heads of branches and money for the campaign, while other candidates has nothing. Moreover, the official website of the Democratic Party on the internet broadcasts daily the meetings that conducts Lulzim Basha with the Democrats in the local branches, while nothing is published about the other candidates campaign.

He also has on his side the deputies he elected himself, and who lost with him at the top, who openly campaign for Basha, and sabotage the race of rivals. His servile deputies openly support Lulzim Basha, for the latter to continue to hold the chair of the DP chairman. So everything is clear:this is a totally unequal race, where the Democrats are faced with the test of whether they will continue to face a serial loser, or will choose another alternative./ CNA.al
