Strelca, one of the most picturesque mountain villages in the Maliq area, has been known for years for its untouched nature and panoramas that magically change with each season. Nestled among greenery, tranquility and tradition, this village has begun to become a new destination for visitors seeking a pure and authentic experience. And right here, in the heart of Strelca, the Peto family has opened the doors of an agrotourism establishment built with a lot of effort and dedication, called “Strofka Strelcë”, a project that aims to give the area life and new development opportunities.
In this mountainous place, where tradition and nature naturally come together, the Peto family's agritourism was created as an investment that stems from the love for the village and the desire to share this beauty with visitors from all over Albania, but also beyond. The owners say that the idea was born from the development of tourism in the country, but also from the conviction that Strelca has a lot to offer. Although the beginnings were difficult and supported by few resources, the family has continued to work step by step, turning the former house into a full-fledged reception center.

In a conversation with the head of the family, Olsi Peton, it is learned that the project started with small steps, but with a lot of perseverance. He explains that everything that has been built has come from learning, working and believing that the area deserves to be promoted. For him, this investment is not only economic, but also a way to keep the village and traditions alive.
"Seeing the growing tourism trend in Albania, as well as seeing the beauties of the area, we had the idea to open something here to offer the beauty of the village. We started with difficulty, with very little, along the way we have gained experience and worked on this business that has a future."
While his son, Romaldo Peto, recounts his idea to bring something special and different to Streltsa. He shows that the goal was not to build an ordinary accommodation structure, but a personalized concept that respects the nature of the area. Thus were born the three wooden lodges, built like traditional cabins, with a capacity of 9 to 12 people, designed for a quiet and warm experience. Romaldo also talks about future plans to expand the project with six more cabins and collaborations with tourist agencies, thus increasing capacities.
"I actually wanted to get away from that idea of ??a hotel or a structure in one place. I wanted to do something different, even for the wooden part. We have three (wooden) houses with a capacity of 9 people that can accommodate up to 12 people. For the future, we are thinking of making 6 more cabins and also collaborating with agencies. Currently, we work with bookings from people themselves, not with agencies because we need larger capacities than what we have. We have decided that along the way, we will add wooden cabins so as not to deviate from the initial idea."
An important part of agritourism is the food. The Peto family has decided that everything is based on local products. In the cabins and in the restaurant, attention is paid to traditional elements, from the carpets to the characteristic dishes of the area, where meat in a can stands out, an old specialty of Strelca. Likewise, all dairy products are produced in-house or obtained from other villagers, thus offering the most authentic experience.

"From accommodation to food, we have thought of continuing with local products from the area. Even in the cabins we offer the traditional one, with elements like the carpets that we have laid, but also in the food section, where we mainly have meat in a can, which is also a specialty of the area. Likewise, the dairy products are all organic products that we produce ourselves or get from other residents of the area. We offer Strelca without leaving the village profile."
So far, the agrotourism has welcomed both local and foreign visitors. Although they started their first season late, the response from visitors has been quite positive. There have been cases when tourists have booked just one night and then decided to stay longer, attracted by the comfort, food, and beautiful nature that surrounds them.

"We have had both foreign and domestic tourists, but they have mainly been locals since the majority of houses that opened were at the end of the season. So far it is something positive because we see the clients themselves who have left positive impressions and this makes us feel good. We have also had clients who have booked for just one night and then asked to stay another night because they liked it."
At a time when mountain tourism is on the rise, Strelca is finding its place on the tourist map thanks to initiatives like “Strofka Strelce”. With the dedication of the Peto family and the beauty that the area offers, this agrotourism has become a clear example of how tradition and entrepreneurship can come together to create a success story. If you are looking for tranquility, nature and a true taste of the Albanian countryside, Strelca is a destination worth visiting./ CNA
