Rehabilitation of the Puka Cemetery/Dodaj: The investment comes in cooperation

The Chairman of the Shkodër District Council, Edmond Ndou, accompanied by the Mayor of Puka, Rrok Dodaj, inspected the works of the project "Rehabilitation and Expansion of the Public Cemeteries of the City of Puka".

The investment comes as a request from the local community, as the public cemetery of Puka has a limited number of vacant plots, which has brought difficulties for many families at the most sensitive moments of life.

Through this investment, a dignified, organized, and safe space is created where citizens have the opportunity to perform funeral services.

 

" It is a very good cooperation between the District Council and the Municipality of Puka. In a social environment because it was necessary to rehabilitate these public cemeteries of the city. Movement to the cemeteries will now be simpler. This is also respect for those who are no longer living ," said Ndou.  

 

 

" A necessary and expected investment. Care is a virtue and we are doing it in cooperation with the district council. We will no longer allow graves to be turned into places for livestock as they were before. We will make sure to have other collaborations ," said Dodaj.

 

The works include fencing the territory, arranging and leveling the terrain, constructing pedestrian paths, and expanding the plots to meet future needs.

This project is part of an investment package that the district council is carrying out with the 5 municipalities of the Shkodra district with a focus on improving public infrastructure and providing the community with higher standard services./CNA
