Maliqi opens the tourist season on May 1st/ Festive activity in the Pheasant Forest

The Municipality of Maliq has chosen to open the tourist season on May 1st, with a special activity in one of the most frequented spots in the area, the Pheasant Forest. Hundreds of citizens, families and children have joined the outdoor celebration, turning this space into a center of entertainment and relaxation. The Mayor of Maliq, Gëzim Topçiu, stated that this area remains one of the most visited attractions throughout the year, not only by residents of the Korça region, but also by tourists from all over Albania.

"Today is a holiday that coincides with the beginning of the tourist season in Maliq and we are here in the Pheasant Forest, one of our most visited attractions not only on holidays, not only on weekends but also on ordinary days. Citizens come here, residents of the entire Korça region, but let's not say from all over Albania, since we are dealing with an attraction that can be visited but also functional all year round. There are about 50 hectares of land that are forested throughout their surface with animals that are identical to this area, roe deer, pheasants, but also other animals that have already been added. Every year, more and more citizens visit it and today is a special day for which we come to see it, also as a local government, to perhaps receive complaints and suggestions for an area that needs intervention and recomposition, and let's hope that together with the AKZM we can turn this into an even broader innovation for you. "serving citizens with more functional elements," said Topçiu.

The activity was accompanied by light Albanian music, children's activities and outdoor games, creating a festive atmosphere for all age groups. The Director of the Palace of Culture "Dhimitër Orgocka", Dhora Dajko, said that the choice of this area for the opening of the season is not accidental, as it offers a special combination of nature and cultural activities.

"The Pheasant Forest is one of the most special spots that the Municipality of Maliq has and it is not in vain that we have chosen this tourist spot as the point to open the tourist season. Many children, young people, parents have chosen to be here with us. We have thought that the music should be light Albanian music that suits nature, the chirping of birds and the fresh air. We also have 3 stations for children, a painting station on canvas, a painting station for younger children to get involved and be under the supervision of adults to draw and we will later have movement games or folk games supervised of course by the staff of the Cultural Center. Many thanks to all the people who have chosen the Pheasant Forest point to spend this special day, which is Workers' Day. May 1 is a day dedicated to all working people. Children and youth were among the most active, participating in various creative stations such as canvas painting and organized games.

"It's the first time I've painted on canvas, it's a very beautiful day. Today's activity is very beautiful and fun for different children who come to play here. We are starting to paint on canvas a painting with beautiful flowers that symbolize spring ," said one of the children.

"Today is the first time I've come and painted on canvas, in nature it's very nice to open my mind and give great inspiration and we've painted with my friends here together. We're very happy and having a great time together. It's very nice, I really like this whole organization, everyone is painting and playing. It's very nice," said another.

The festive atmosphere in the Pheasant Forest this May 1st marked not only a day of rest spent differently for hundreds of citizens, but also a promising start to the tourist season for the Municipality of Maliq. In a space where nature, clean air and cultural activities naturally intertwine, this destination continues to remain an attractive point for visitors of all ages.
