"The construction of the platform took about 8 months. The idea came after I had a coffee with a book author, who told me that he was very disappointed in the income they earn. Given that a book that can cost 10 euros, 30% is taken by the bookstore that sells it, the rest goes to printing and distribution, and in the end an author receives only 1 euro from the sale of a book. In addition, at the end of the year he does not have a clear idea of ??how many books he has sold, because there is no tracking and transparency system for Albanian authors. After this meeting, I started thinking about how technology can help authors, have full transparency, track sales and know who the buyers of their books are", says Duhanxhiu.
This is the first platform of its kind in Albania and has already begun to attract the interest of authors. Its catalog includes children's books, including publications dedicated to children on the autism spectrum, textbooks, as well as novels and poetry from various genres.
"This is the first platform of this type of service in Albania. We are proud to have built it and the authors have embraced it as an idea. We hope that readers, wherever they are, will also use it as a platform. I myself graduated in software engineering, I am a programmer and have my own agency in Korça that offers website, application and system building services for businesses. I have dedicated this type of system only to Albanian authors. Starting with children's books, we have an author of books dedicated to children on the autistic spectrum. Then we have textbooks by Professor Islam Alikaj, who is one of the greatest professors in the field of mathematics and the creation of olympiads. Then we continue with novels, poems and books of different genres," said Duhanxhiu.

With the summer season approaching, the creators of the platform invite readers to use technology to read wherever they are, whether on a phone, tablet or laptop, even by the sea.
"Since summer is coming, I would suggest buying a book and reading it wherever you are, from your phone, tablet or laptop, maybe even by the sea during this tourist season. I invite all Albanian readers to visit our Libra24.al platform, choose their favorite books and access them directly wherever they are in the world. Happy reading," emphasizes Duhanxhiu.
Libra24.al aims to become a bridge between Albanian authors and their readers, bringing more access, transparency and support for Albanian books./CNA
