Exhibition "Albania, beloved homeland" in Korça on March 7

As part of the celebrations of March 7, Teacher's Day, at the Museum of the First Albanian School in Korça, an exhibition entitled "Albania, Beloved Homeland" was opened, which is dedicated to patriotic songs and figures who have contributed to the spread of education and Albanian national identity.

The exhibition brings to the public well-known authors of patriotic songs such as Asdreni, Kol Tomori, Thanas Floqi and Parashqevi Qiriazi, who through their creativity have left their mark on the history of Albanian education and culture.

This exhibition features portraits of the authors, as well as lyrics of songs related to love for the homeland and the spread of the Albanian language.

According to the director of the Museum of Medieval Art, Fjoralba Prifti, the goal of this exhibition is for the younger generations to learn about the authors and history of patriotic songs that have accompanied important periods of the development of Albanian education and the strengthening of national identity.

"The idea of ??the exhibition lies in patriotic songs, to get to know the authors, lyricists, composers starting with Asdreni, Kol Tomorë, Thanas Floqi, Parashqevi Qirjazi and many others who are authors of well-known patriotic songs that have marked the history of Albanian education, in the opening of the first Albanian school, in the spread of identity and this is very important to be known by all generations.

"The songs write about the homeland, the anthem of the flag, our letters are golden, "We love Albania", "For the motherland", which have marked our national identity. We have a special exhibition where we get portraits and lyrics of songs that you read once and then look at the author."

Music professor Pandi Bello also emphasizes that the songs of this period are closely related to historical events in the city of Korça, especially the opening of the first Albanian school and the development of the cultural and artistic life of the time. At that time, the city also had a musical band called the “Banda e Lirisë e Korçës”, which played an important role in artistic life.

"The songs of this period are completely connected to the events of Korça, to the historical fact of the opening of the first school in the Albanian language. The subject of the songs is such and when the teaching process in the Albanian language was opened, in addition to the teaching process, the artistic process was something common in this building.

The spread of language culture was intertwined with art and culture, so the musical events of the time have a great connection with both historical events and this building. A musical band called the "Banda e Lirisë të Korçës" operated here, and there were many artistic events in that period."

The exhibition has also attracted visitors from other Albanian regions. A group of tourists from Kicevo visited Korça specifically for the March 7 holiday and to learn more about the history of Albanian education.

"We came specifically from Kicevo for March 7, Teacher's Day, Albanian Education Day, when Albanian schools were opened in Albanian lands. We will also visit the city of Korça, but in general we came for this purpose. We came as a group to visit Korça, we also have a professor with us. We always come to Korça, every year."
