Sinica, the village of stone and tradition that is turning into a tourist

The picturesque village of Sinica, in the Upper Devoll area, remains one of the most unique tourist destinations in the southeast of the country. Surrounded by untouched nature and with characteristic stone houses, Sinica offers an authentic experience for visitors, especially during the winter season, when it is covered in snow and transformed into a natural wonder.

The old tradition, the characteristic architecture and the hospitality of the inhabitants are the elements that make this village increasingly sought after by local and foreign tourists. The family guesthouses have become points of reference for those seeking tranquility, nature and traditional food.

Dajlan Hysolli, has opened a small guesthouse in Sinica, "Vatrën Sinicare", and tells CNA TV that the number of visitors is increasing day by day. He says that tourists from the Devoll and Korça areas have stayed at the guesthouse, as well as foreigners from various countries in Europe and beyond, such as Israel, Palestine and China.

According to Hysolli, tourists are attracted by the hospitable nature of the area and the natural and cultural monuments that the village offers, such as waterfalls, churches and old stone bridges. The improvement of the road infrastructure has also had a positive impact, which has significantly facilitated access to Sinica.

"Our guesthouse has had different people coming and going every day, both domestic and foreign. Most of the people who come are residents of Devoll and Korça, but we also have foreign tourists from Europe. They have come from Israel, Palestine, and China. Tourists here like the place, which is very hospitable, the nature that stands out for its uniqueness. We have two waterfalls, a church, two stone bridges. There are many things to visit. The construction of the road has changed things in a positive way. Before the road was built, people were happy to come but were not given the opportunity. Now, with the construction of the road, the number of visitors is increasing day by day."

Another element that makes visitors return is the traditional cuisine. Typical dishes of the area, such as dhallanik, chicken with noodles, lakrori, pëshërmaja and homemade rakija, are part of the experience offered to tourists. It is precisely the dishes inherited from previous generations that distinguish Sinica from other villages. Tourists express their satisfaction with everything the village offers, starting from nature, traditional food to the authenticity of rural life, which makes Sinica an increasingly preferred destination for family and cultural tourism.

"That's exactly what they come here for, for the traditional dishes of the area and mainly of our village. The things we eat at home, the tourists who come here also eat, like dhallaniku, chicken with noodles, lakrorori, pešermaja, homemade rakia, and other products. The tourists are very satisfied and come back again. They like the nature, the place, the dishes, all the things that the village of Sinica offers. It makes a difference because in our village these ancient dishes have been preserved that not everyone can have. Here, even today, the dishes of our mothers and grandmothers are recreated."

Sinica is gradually becoming one of the most important points of rural tourism in the southeast of the country, combining untouched nature, cultural heritage and traditional cuisine. Investments in infrastructure and the commitment of the residents themselves have directly influenced the increase in the number of visitors, who are increasingly discovering the values ????that this village offers. The preservation of traditions, ancient cuisine and characteristic architecture makes Sinica an authentic destination, which not only promotes tourism, but also contributes to the economic development of the area and to keeping life in the village alive. / CNA
