The “Dhimitër Orgocka” Community Cultural Center in Maliq is taking full shape and now looks more beautiful and functional than ever. This important investment is the result of cooperation between the Maliq Municipality and the Albanian Development Fund, where the municipality has carried out the main construction works, while the fund is completing the installations, lighting, equipment and all the elements necessary for the center to function.

The facility is designed to offer modern spaces equipped with contemporary technology, which will enable the realization of various cultural, artistic and social activities. The center will serve all ages, becoming a reference point for the local community and the Korça region.

The Mayor, Gëzim Topçiu, tells Cna TV that the municipality has covered the construction, the interior, while the Albanian Development Fund is completing the installations, lighting, equipment, heating and all the elements necessary for the functioning of the center. He evaluates this investment as one of the most qualitative in the territory of the Maliq Municipality and emphasizes that the center will be completed and accessible to citizens within a short period.

"A very important investment, a co-financing of the municipality of Maliq with the Albanian Development Fund. The municipality did the construction part, the structure, the roof, all the concrete part, and now the rest is being developed by the Albanian Development Fund."

A very qualitative, very good investment, probably one of the best investments that has been made in the territory of the municipality of Maliq. I want to thank FShZh and the Albanian government for this investment. We are in the final phase, so to speak, the lighting, equipment, electrical tests, heating, and all the necessary accessories that this cultural palace will have, a community center that will have many activities for all ages, are being done.

"There is also the part of the external territory which I believe will be invested in by the municipality. We will start very soon with the arrangement of its entire territory. I believe that within 1 or 1 and a half months this building will be completed and accessible to all citizens."

Topçiu also highlights the importance of the name Dhimitër Orgocka, an icon of Albanian cinema and theater, who began his career in Maliq. The center will function as a reference point not only for the city, but also for the region and beyond, creating connections with Korça's theater and the country's cultural institutions.

"Definitely, Dhimitër Orgocka, an important name, an icon of cinematography, a famous director who started his career in Maliqi, and definitely a respect for his figure. So let this center be a further development for culture, for art, not only for Maliqi but I believe also a regional center which will have connections with the Korça theater, with all the cultural institutions of the region, and at the republic level. So we say why not make this a regional center but also a wider one for culture, art, cinematography, archeology, for everything related to Maliqi."

Zamira Kita, actress and director of the Korça Theater, says that the new center will enable the development of theatrical performances, concerts and major cultural events, offering comfortable spaces for the public and artists. According to her, this will create opportunities for collaboration between artists and amateurs from Maliqi, Pogradec, Devolli and Kolonja, promoting cultural activity throughout the region.

"First of all, I feel very happy, pleased because Korça, our region, will be added another very good theater with contemporary parameters, a theater that will not only have the comfort to be a good audience in the plays that will be played there, but will also have such technology that will enable not only theater performances but also concerts, activities, events, large festive, artistic, cultural events that will further enrich the cultural activity, the calendar of all our times to come.

I am very happy because being another theater, our productions in this region will allow us two large halls. If we have 2-3 shows at the same time and the show schedules are busy, or the films that are now coming in bulk, we can distribute the activities, no we can but we will distribute them. What makes me feel good is the idea of ??uniting the entire region in a cultural center to function as one since we will all be together.

We will have a voice, a feeling, a spirit, an energy and thus we can carry out many activities. It will be possible to activate amateurs in Kolonjë, Devoll, Pogradec and Maliq, and we will all put on performances together. Since we acquire this Maliq theater in very good parameters, we will have the opportunity to put on very good performances.

I would like to call on all artists to gradually start planning their performances and to bring them to Korça, performing them on the Maliqi stage. The other part that makes me happy and I say it with pride is that the name Dhimitër Orgocka that this theater has enjoyed for a long time will now have the proper honor as befits an artist of such great proportions as Dhimitër Orgocka."
