"Lights and Shadows" bring artistic emotions to Korça

The concert "Dritat dhe Hijet" (Lights and Shadows) was held on the evening of March 21 at the "Andon Zako Çajupi" Theater in Korça, an activity that brought a combination of classical and modern music to the audience. Four young artists, Nikola Kondakçi, Sonja Hoxhallari, Flobens Zyma and Ejona Nako, performed a rich repertoire on stage, starting from the famous Franz Schubert quartet to a tribute to the legendary band Queen. The Korça audience welcomed this artistic evening, which requires a high level of cooperation and sensitivity between the instrumentalists.

The artists themselves consider this concert a challenge, due to the complexity of the works and the formation of the quartet, which requires complete harmony between the performers. Nikola Kondakçi, the Korçë artist who plays the violin, says that the concert was a novelty and challenge in itself, while returning to the stage of his hometown holds strong emotions for him.

"We tried to bring something new, because for this formation to bring these works is very difficult, as they require a very great fusion. It is a challenge. I hope everything went well. We include everything, everything that the music contains. It is one of the most beautiful and perhaps the most difficult quartets ever written. Playing in one's homeland is the most difficult stage. The audience, perhaps over time, will be even better, but it is good anyway," said Nikola Kondakçi.

Beyond the technical difficulties, the concert also brought a spirit of cooperation and friendship between the artists, who for the first time took the stage together as a full quartet. Ejona Nako, the artist who plays the cello, says that it is her first time playing with her colleagues in a quartet in the city of Korça, while expressing her satisfaction with the hospitality of the Korça audience.

"It was a very emotional evening, with a very special repertoire. We have known each other for a long time; it is the first time that the four of us play together. It is a great pleasure for the four of us, I believe. When you feel good both from a friendly and professional point of view, it is very easy to come together. Previously, we performed separately, while this time we were four as a quartet. I have been to Korça two or three times in different formations and I was very pleased ," said Ejona Nako.

The “Lights and Shadows” concert comes as another effort to enrich cultural life in Korça, bringing to the public not only selected repertoire, but also special artistic emotions. Evenings like this prove that Korça continues to remain one of the most important art centers in the country, where the talent of young artists and quality repertoires always find an appreciative audience. /CNA
