Monodrama dedicated to Mother Teresa performed in Pogradec

An evening filled with emotion and art was experienced at the "Lasgush Poradeci" performance hall in Pogradec, where the monodrama "Mother Teresa's Dream - Divine Humanity" took the stage, an artistic homage to the great figure of Mother Teresa.

The performance of actress Justina Aliaj and the direction of Gëzim Kame brought to the audience a heartfelt story about the humanity, love and dedication that this extraordinary figure symbolizes.

"Monodramas are very difficult because you are dealing with only one actor with a text that in another play could have been 20 actors. This is my second experience after Socrates' Apology with Mirush Kabashi and the second as a play with Justina Aliaj. I am dealing with very great actors. Not every actor can handle a monodrama, especially these types of monodramas that are philosophical. I feel great satisfaction that Justina, with her extraordinary passion, managed to build a monodrama in a short time and represent one of the greatest world figures like Mother Teresa. Mother Teresa is played by an actress and represents that great philosophy that she has, there is a great respect from the spectator for this figure, this is what I feel at least during the play", said director Gëzim Kame.

Through acting and music, the play brought to the stage not only the life of Mother Teresa, but also her profound philosophy of love for people and service to the weakest. Monodrama is one of the most challenging forms of theater, as the entire weight of the narrative rests on just one actor.

"It is extremely difficult and I always say it is a great responsibility. Because in a monodrama you are alone, you have no help, only imaginary characters that you try to bring to life. At the same time, it is the greatest and most honorable role for me. Every person finds themselves, perhaps not in all three of Mother Teresa's bequests, but certainly in one of them."

"My mouth is dry, I can't give myself, I try to lecture as if I have nothing, but I am in extraordinary tension from beginning to end," said actress Justina Aliaj.

The performance was welcomed by the Pogradec audience and the Indian ambassador in Tirana, bringing an evening of reflection and emotions. An artistic homage that reminds us that the figure of Mother Teresa remains one of the greatest prides of Albanians and an eternal symbol of humanism worldwide./ CNA
