EU enlargement with Western Balkan countries/ Costa: This is the biggest

European Council President Antonio Costa said that for the EU, enlargement with the Western Balkan countries is the biggest geopolitical investment being made and this is the right moment.

Costa said that Albania is the embodiment of the EU membership process.

"It is a pleasure for me to conclude my tour in Tirana. For the EU, enlargement is the biggest geopolitical investment we are making. This is the right moment. We have it in our hands. Albania is the embodiment of the EU accession process.

The elections confirmed the desire of Albanians to be in the EU.

"Albania's membership in the EU is our joint investment. I want to encourage you to keep your eyes on the target," Costa said.

Among other things, he emphasized that if Albania continues working at this pace, it will join the EU before 2030. 

"If Albania continues at the same pace, it is possible to become a member of the EU before 2030," Costa said./ CNA
