DP elections/ Alimehmeti: There is no other candidate besides Berisha

Member of the National Council of the Democratic Party, Ilir Alimehmeti, spoke in a television appearance about the electoral process within the party.

Alimehmeti stated that the party itself begins on June 6, because it is the Assembly that appoints the National Council.

The Democrat stated that regarding the race for party chairman, apart from Berisha, no one else has announced a candidacy or presented a platform.

Further, Alimehmeti said that the party leadership will be appointed by the National Council.

" The President is definitely the most important organ of the Democratic Party. The party itself is established and starts on June 6 because the Assembly appoints the Council. The Council then appoints the Presidency, the vice-presidents, the secretariats, the entire organizational part. I don't know of any candidacies that have been announced to date, that have announced ambitions, that have announced a vision, a platform other than that of Dr. Sali Berisha. I don't know of any others. If there are others, we will wait for them to appear ," said Alimehmeti.
