The deadline for registering immigrants to participate in the May 11 elections has passed.
Thus, over 294 thousand voters from abroad have applied for registration for the May 11 elections, while over 231 thousand applications have been approved.
The number of immigrants whose registration requests have been rejected is over 41 thousand. Over 20 thousand requests are being reviewed by the CEC.
The CEC has rejected the request to extend the deadlines, thus closing the process of registering immigrants to vote on May 11.
The DP requested that the extension be made for all immigrants for 5 days, while the SP agreed in principle, but that this extension be made only for those immigrants who had previously applied and were unable to register in the system for many technical reasons./ CNA
