The Coordinator for Diaspora in the Democratic Party, Tedi Kopliku, commented on the decision of the Regulatory Commission not to postpone the date of registration for the Diaspora in the elections. The Democratic Party's request was for the deadline to be postponed until March 9, but it was decided that registration would close on March 4 at midnight.

Kopliku emphasized that the SP members were eagerly waiting for this process to be completed, as their opponents were surprised by the high number of interested parties. Among other things, Kopliku added that by closing the registration on the date, the SP also failed itself, as it requested an extension of the deadline for those whose applications had been denied, and now, in this form, they will not have the opportunity to benefit either.

"The reason is simple, they have been waiting impatiently for this process to be completed, seeing the high interest of the diaspora to vote on May 11. Today, with the CEC regulator, the SP members have rejected their own proposal, which was about processing applications rejected by March 9.

The only way to register is until midnight today and those who have been rejected will have to try several times. At midnight all applications will be processed. It happens that they are rejected 10 times and accepted on the 11th time.

"The rejection of the SP is understandable, because it has gone beyond their expectations, beyond the patronized people. Everyone knows that the SP is the first to vote and the DP is the last, the same happens with registration at the CEC," said Kopliku. /CNA
