Democratic Party MP Besart Xhaferri has accused the government in a reaction of having expelled 254,000 pupils and students from the country.

In his Facebook post, he says that public education has turned into a private enterprise where students and their families are exploited. Xhaferri writes that only 17,000 high school graduates have enrolled in public universities this year, while adding that by 2030 the auditoriums could be empty.

Only 17,000 high school graduates registered this year at our public universities, as around 10,000 graduates, including the children of socialist ministers and legislators, chose to study abroad.

At this rate, and within the framework of the "rejuvenation" project, in 2030 we may have a university with a tower, but the auditoriums will be empty. /CNA
