Journalist Mentor Kikia criticized today the state of the Albanian Parliament, based on the figures of the deputies.

In a television appearance, Kikia said that the intellectual level leaves much to be desired, as most see opportunities to find jobs for relatives.

Kikia said that both the majority and the opposition are wrong in choosing names that represent Albanians.

"If there are still people in Parliament who are over 70% above the intellectual level. If there is a small part, the deputies are not there to sort out the family, to find a foothold or a job. They are not there to do the work of the portals.

There is a degradation of both the institution itself and the MPs. Both sides are at fault. Both the majority and the opposition. The vacuum that the opposition has due to the number of mandates, should not be filled with nonsense.

"We need a more responsible people than the deputies we elect. If that were the case, 1/3 of them would not be in Parliament. There are many deputies who do not deserve it, especially in this legislature. They come in wearing ties as deputies and leave with handcuffs on their hands. It is shameful to call them representatives of the people," said Kikia./CNA
