Diaspora vote/ Electoral College and CEC reject DP's request, counting

The Electoral College has rejected the Democratic Party's request for Greece's votes.

The DP had requested that envelopes coming from Greek immigrants be counted separately from envelopes coming from other countries.

The same decision was made by the CEC today. Celibashi decided to continue counting the ballot envelopes received from the Albanian diaspora in Greece.

This decision comes after the blocking of the counting process that began on Sunday night, May 11.

" The State Election Commissioner decided to continue and complete the counting and evaluation of any electoral documentation received outside the territory of Albania at the Central Election Commission, as well as the tabulation of the relevant results for the electoral subjects, candidates who have undergone preferential voting for each district.

This order of the Commissioner also includes envelopes (arrived from Greece) which have not been reviewed and have been administered according to SEC decision no. 1121, dated 12.05.2025, " writes Celibashi./ CNA
