Elections in Albania/ Robert Papa: DASH aware of irregularities

Fokus TV journalist and author Robert Papa has announced that he has approached the US Department of State for a response regarding allegations of theft, manipulation, pressure and use of the administration in the May 11 elections in Albania.

After many attempts, journalist Robert Papa has received an official response from the State Department stating that they are aware of the allegations of irregularities on election day.

According to Robert Papa, the State Department's response emphasized: "Every citizen should be free to exercise their vote without intimidation and in accordance with Albanian laws."

"Being attached to the foreign media center with the centers in New York and Washington, so the foreign media centers at the US Department of State, at least once a month or twice a month, we have the right to ask the State Department spokesperson and they have generally responded."

The answers are often off the record that cannot be made public, and this time I asked about the State Department's silence on the elections, saying that there are accusations of theft, manipulation, pressure, and massive use of the administration.

The first day they didn't answer. The second day too. I've been forced to contact the Fokus TV office again, asking why this silence, because I remember when Yuri Kim was there. Do you remember how he ran, how he screamed, how he congratulated Rama before the election results were out?

DASH gave me an official response:

We are aware of the allegations of irregularities on election day. Every citizen should be free to exercise their vote without intimidation and in accordance with Albanian laws.

So, the US State Department is aware of election irregularities in Albania. I am proud to have modestly brought this concern to the attention of the State Department spokesperson.

"The answer is diplomatic, stating that every citizen should be free to vote without intimidation. The diplomatic answer is that a free vote was not held, so there was intimidation by the administration. He also mentioned compliance with Albanian law," said Robert Papa./ CNA
