CEC cancels accreditation of all observers at the vote counting site from abroad

The CEC has canceled the accreditation of all observers at the vote counting site from abroad, with the exception of international observers.

“In accordance with articles 6, 7, 19, points 1, letter "n", and 2, of law no. 10019, dated 29.12.2008, "Electoral Code of the Republic of Albania", as amended, and decision no. 23 dated 1.2.2023, of the State Election Commissioner "On the procedures and criteria for the accreditation of observers of electoral entities in the commissions of electoral administration zones, the commissions of voting centers and vote counting sites, in elections",

DECIDES:

1. Cancellation of the accreditation of all observers at the External Vote Counting Site (EVTS), with the exception of international observers.

2. Each of the 11 electoral entities is entitled to have only one observer for each counting group, as well as one observer for each district.

3. Civil society organizations must resubmit the request for observer accreditation to the Central Election Commission, through the Observer Portal, no later than 12:00, May 16, 2025.

4. Requests for accreditation of observers from political parties must be submitted to the Central Election Commission within today, no later than 24:00.

5. This decision enters into force immediately and is published on the official website of the Central Election Commission.

6. An appeal may be filed against this decision to the Appeals and Sanctions Commission within 3 (three) days of its announcement," the announcement states./ CNA
