The Minister of Justice, Ulsi Manja, presented the recommendations of the Council of Ministers for the General Prosecutor's Office.

Manja stated that the fight against criminality is a joint battle. Among other things, he emphasized that the independence of prosecutors should be guaranteed and the quality of investigations in the field of corruption should be increased by focusing on the investigations of the initiated cases.

" The fight against crime is our common fight. This is not done by looking at each other in separate trenches. The fight against the criminal is done with bridges of cooperation, having as a common denominator the fight against crime in any form and with any means to make the environment more peaceful. With the justice reform, we laid the solid foundations for the system to function better.

We face 2 different situations. The prosecutor must be independent in the decisions he makes. To guarantee the independence of prosecutors. The independence of the procurator guarantees his accountability in an impartial manner. Any prosecutor who violates the law should face justice.

Even the fight against corruption remains a priority and we are aware that this will be one of our main challenges in the EU integration process. The cooperation between the general prosecutor's office continued to increase the effectiveness of crimes related to corruption and organized crime. The Council of Ministers recommends an increase in the number of cases for 2023 as well. We encourage proactive investigations to be increased in order to improve the quality of investigations, especially in the field of corruption.
