The opposition candidate for Vora, Indrit Hoxha, held a meeting with OSCE/ODIHR representatives today.

Through a status on social networks, Hoxha announced that he presented the problems of the municipality of Vora to the OSCE/ODIHR representatives.

Hoxha informed them that gangs are being used during the election campaign in order to intimidate citizens, while he also mentioned the use of the public administration in the election campaign.

Hoxha denounced to the OSCE/ODIHR representatives how public funds are being used for electoral purposes.

Full statement:

I had the pleasure of waiting today in the office of the electoral headquarters of the "Bashke Fitojme" coalition in Vorë, representing the OSCE/ODIHR mission. Together with my staff, we presented all the problems that this municipality has shown in terms of the election process, but not only.

I informed the OSCE/ODIHR representatives that Vora has these problems.

1. It is the municipality that has changed more mayors in four years than any other in the Republic of Albania, turning that municipality into a symbol of lawlessness and corruption.

2. The use of gangs during the election campaign in order to intimidate citizens to vote for the party in power.

3. Using the public administration in the election campaign as well as blowing it out of any criteria by misusing public money for political purposes.

4. The use of public funds for electoral purposes. As an example of the intimidation that is being made to the citizens of Vora in the distribution of houses that have been lost by the earthquake.

I thanked them for choosing to observe closely. Rightfully so, as Vora in relation to population and territory has perhaps the largest criminal concentration than any other municipality. For these reasons, I asked him to double the number of international observers in the municipality of Vora. I will personally be at their disposal to prove the electoral crimes of the gang in power every day. It is the mission of all of us, that no vote is violated and the will of the citizens of Vora is respected.
