Prime Minister Edi Rama said today that bonuses for pensioners will continue.
Rama said that the pension system should be re-intervened, without destroying the foundations of the reform system.
"We will move in parallel with the bonuses.
Bonuses have increased in quantity and timing because we give two bonuses: one at the end of the year and one in the spring.
These are related to economic growth and economic performance.
We want these bonuses to continue.
We want retirees to reap the benefits of the economy.
Meanwhile, by re-intervening in the pension system, we do not want to undermine the foundations of the reform system," Rama said.
Rama made this statement at the International Conference on Pension System Reform in Albania.
At this conference, the challenges and ambitions of the new pension system reform were discussed.
Also present were the Minister of Economy, Culture and Innovation, Blendi Gonxhja, and the World Bank Director for the Western Balkans, Xiaoqing Yu. / CNA
