OECD/Virant report presented: New regulation needed for public administration

The OECD/SIGMA monitoring report on the public domain is being presented today.

Present at this presentation are Prime Minister Edi Rama, Minister of State for Public Administration and Anti-Corruption Adea Pirdeni, and the Head of the OECD.

This report focuses on some of the important elements of the public sphere, including Albania's positioning in the region in public procurement, public finance management, digital governance, human resource management, and public administration development.

OECD/SIGMA Program Manager, Gregor Virant, during his speech emphasized the necessity of adopting the new regulation on public administration.

Virant said that the OECD is ready to help Albania to better adapt to European rules.

"There is a gap in procedures and this needs to be reduced."

Adaptation to European rules must be made.

In the field of digitalization, there have been significant efforts and support.

The problems are merit-based appointments.

In the principles of administration, you are a leader.

A new regulation for public administration should be adopted.

Our manual is an instrument for the government to use.
