The Democratic Party, in a statement this morning, accused President Bajram Begaj of hiding and aligning himself with the majority that will have 100% control of the Constitutional Court.

Franc Nuri, Head of the Justice Department in the Democratic Party, said that the President hid when he sent an official request to the Constitutional Court without specifying the name of the judge in question, although it is understood that it is Judge Sonila Bejtja.

According to the DP, Begaj is a party President appointed by Rama's will, without any consultation or consensus from the opposition, and that he will only be remembered by History for having returned the Law on Medals and Decorations to the Parliament.

A few days ago, the news was made public that the President of the Republic, Bajram Begaj, had made an official request to the Constitutional Court with the object of "Declaration of the end of the mandate of the Judge of the Constitutional Court", but without specifying the name of the Judge in question, although everyone understands that it is about Judge Sonila Bejtja, previously appointed by the institution of the President of the Republic.

What is noticeable is that in his request, although he attempts to hide behind the principles of constitutional loyalty, Begaj is unable to hide the true purpose of the letter bearing his signature, which clearly seeks to reactivate the majority's attempts to completely seize control of the Constitutional Court.

By seeking an interpretation of the duration of the mandate of Sonila Bejtje, one of the few judges who has had the courage to oppose the unjust decisions or laws of this Government, while Bajram Begaj had no need to take this step at this very moment, the President of the Republic has de facto aligned himself with the Majority and those who want to have 100% control over the Constitutional Court!

But why does President Begaj wake up from his lethargic sleep today and remember the Constitutional Court?

Bajram Begaj is a party President appointed by Rama's will, without any consultation or consensus from the opposition. Today, after having passed half of his 5-year mandate as President of the Republic, Bajram Begaj will be remembered by History for having returned only 1 Law to the Assembly: the Law on Medals and Decorations, because Rama also removed those powers from the Assembly!

Did Begaj remember the Liberal Professions Tax Law?

Law declared unconstitutional by the Constitutional Court! Absolutely not!

Did Begaj remember the infamous custom contract laws, such as those of the Durrës Port Concession and the Butrint Concession?

Did Begaj remember the Rama-Meloni Agreement, which violated the country's sovereignty and the President's own competences?

Did Begaj remember the Law on the Order of the Academy of Sciences?
