The political leader for Tirana in the Democratic Party, Belind Këlliçi, invited to "MCN TV", emphasized that 100 million euros have disappeared in the Tirana incinerator and that this is documented. Among other things, Këlliçi stated that all this cost of an affair like the incinerator weighs heavily on the backs of the citizens of Tirana.

"So far, the Special Prosecution Office has managed to prove that 120 million euros have been paid for the Sharra landfill by 2022 with the company's papers. The value of the investment is 23 million euros. So SPAK says that we have proven that 100 million Euros have disappeared.

The decision says so. And there is no information about where these 100 million euros went. I have sent SPAK documents, clearing contracts, I have sent the addresses of the apartments that were given to the incinerator, which are neither mentioned nor taken into account. I have found at least 2.4 million of these 100 million.

This decision states that from March 21, 2023, at the height of the investigations and the local election campaign, until June 21, 2023, citizen Elton Bualli, a landfill administrator, received 500 thousand euros in cash, at an exchange near the American Embassy , and handed it over to Mirel Mertiri's account, so they were going to pay the country's media.

"These came from the soil business, which continues to operate today as we speak. Are they paid for soil disposal or not? Are millions of euros in cash going to the Sharra landfill? The citizens bear all the costs," said Kelliçi. /CNA
