The RTSH Council reports to the Commission/Zhupa: Apply the rules

The daily session of the Committee on Education and Public Information is taking place today at the Presidency of the Assembly.

The hearing session is attended by members of the RTSH Steering Council.

This session is being held in relation to the procedures that were followed in the selection of candidates for Director General of RTSH. 

The Chairperson of the Media Commission, Ina Zhupa, stressed that even though this Council is independent, they must be accountable to the Assembly that elected them. Zhupa further requested that the process of selecting the new leader be in accordance with all rules and criteria for candidates to be equal.

"You are not independent of the law and the Assembly."

You are elected by the Assembly and are accountable to it.

The process of selecting the director must comply with the rules and better serve the RTSH platform.

You know that so far the Commission has not interfered in your elections, but the criteria must be equal.

"The criteria either exist or they don't exist," said Zhupa.

 

We remind you that, for several weeks, the Steering Council of Albanian Radio Television has been continuing the process of selecting the new director of this institution.

Meanwhile, regarding this issue, CNA has conducted a lengthy investigation and has denounced the violations that have been occurring for a long time, including the successive scandals of the current leader Leka Bungo. /CNA
