Changes to the Electoral Code/ Balla: Whoever does not come on February 13th,

Minister of State for Parliamentary Relations and Leader of the Socialist Party for the Diaspora, Taulant Balla, once again appealed to the opposition not to miss the parliamentary session on February 13th, where a vote will be held on amending the Electoral Code to facilitate the vote of immigrants.

"Two issues that need immediate solutions. The first, regarding a request and understanding that our sisters and brothers in the diaspora do not pay for return postage, just as the three of us will not pay on May 11, the same for them. This issue should not be politicized. Whoever has taken the diaspora vote seriously should not be absent, and cast their vote.

The second issue in support of the process. We have several deadlines and it turns out that the time of 50 days from the time of the candidate's filing and approval of the ballot, printing and mailing is a short time. The CEC has only requested 10 days.

"They are not elements of a political nature, they are of a technical nature. The third element on which we have reached an agreement with the DP, to be honest, is for the counting. The DP did not trust the CEC, let's do it. These three will be voted on February 13. Whoever does not come will do what they have done all these years, block it," said Balla.

On the other hand, Balla described as idiotic the opposition's request that immigrants with foreign documents also participate in the elections.

"Let's say God took our minds off everyone and we agreed to this idiotic proposal. The CEC will have to verify that this American, German, Russian, Chinese ID card is valid because they don't know that the PER that the CEC has set up is an infrastructure that is interconnected with several systems in Albania, it is connected to a database and the authenticity is confirmed.

"Today, with Chatgpt, they are making a "fake" card. So they come up with a proposal that is unworkable and thus create a stalemate. The DP has chosen an alibi to block the diaspora vote because they are realizing that they are losing, or they never wanted to," said Balla.

Meanwhile, Balla described the opposition's claims that the administration is being threatened with dismissal for the names of relatives in emigration as mere rumors.

"The patronage Elon Musk in Pennsylvania not only campaigned but offered $1 million to register. It is not allowed in Albania. What the SP supporters are doing is calling their uncle and telling them to register please, so they are replacing the work of the CEC. You deal with rumors.

This never happens. After all, the SP has 100,000 members, there is no need for an administration. Today in Germany, party activists are calling to say, "Come on, vote." Stay calm in this regard. Since the deadlock in the parliament, it is clear that the black report of the May 11 vote is being built," said Balla. /CNA
