"The government will subsidize the private insurance supplement", Rama: At the end of the mandate, the minimum wage will reach 700 euros

Democratic Party MP Jorida Tabaku reacted today after Prime Minister Edi Rama announced an increase in pensions in the state budget for 2026.
Through a post on social media, Tabaku ironically says that these promises have been repeated for 13 years and describes them as a mockery of pensioners.
"According to the Prime Minister, pensions will increase by 1,800 lek in the city and 600 lek in the countryside. This means only 60 lek per day, a coffee in the city or 20 lek in the countryside. What can a pensioner do with one more coffee per day? After all these increases, the government offers a handout, not a solution. Pensions today are a handout, not social policy. Albania needs a new, sustainable and dignified scheme for its elderly. The government can distribute free coffee, but it cannot buy the dignity of pensioners," Tabaku said. /CNA
