The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, said today that due to the government's wrong decisions and policies, Albanians are heading towards a national abyss.

In his speech at the meeting of the DP Parliamentary Group, Berisha said that the situation with prices is quite serious, linking the situation also in relation to salaries in the country.

According to Berisha, the next step by the DP will be to resubmit to the Assembly the amendment to establish the living wage.

"We will resubmit to parliament the amendment on the living wage, as the first and most necessary move to support Albanian citizens. With this price increase, it is necessary for the living wage to be over 200 euros. No other increase compensates for this. Whatever its cost, the first of every step is the living wage and it is unimaginable to accept such a situation and great heartlessness when you see the prices. I am taking Eurostat figures, they are 17% higher than the EU average, while the lowest salaries. The purchasing power of salaries is what it was two years ago, in 2023. Establishing the minimum will be our battle in parliament. We are heading towards a national abyss and if we start this year, it will take 30-50 years to reach where we were in 2013. But, an extermination project for Albanians, requires at all costs that they flee from Albania", said Berisha./CNA
